Welcome to Berlin
The capital of Germany, with its incredible evolving history – notably involving the Berlin Wall, is a world city of culture, politics, media, and science as well as leisure with many cool techno clubs, numerous beach bars along the river Spree, sprawling parks and interesting museums.
Berlin offers something for everyone; famous landmarks like the historic Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag and East Side Gallery, 153 museums among which the ensemble on the Museum Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a vibrant nightlife and a cocktail of restaurants, cafés and bars.
Berlin is known for its diverse party scene with with hip clubs such as Berghain open until well into the morning, while its fashion, art, design and music scene is just as alive and energetic. This trendiness is set off by Berlin’s grand architecture, research institutes, orchestras, museums, and not in the least its historical legacy.

Restaurants/Cafés
Diener Tattersall
Type of Cuisine: Traditional
The Tattersall is named after the English horse auctioneer Richard Tattersall and is housed in a former riding school. Here came Kaiser Wilhelm II and after the ride he would stay for a refreshing glass of champagne. The exterior of the building has remained unchanged to this day. Franz Diener (former German heavyweight champion) took over the place and turned it into a trendy artists’ bar. The picture gallery – started in 1954 and constantly expanding contains about 500 portraits of artists which adorn the walls of the premises. The food is hearty traditional German, such as Hackepeter, cold minced pork, raw egg, capers, and anchovies, or Königsberger Klopse, minced veal which is a national dish.

Adnan
Type of Cuisine: Trendy
Whether you are spending a romantic evening or lunch with colleagues, Adnan is the perfect venue with its delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Adnan Oral is Turkish, but that has no impact on his fabulous Italian menu offering pizza, pasta, and risotto, all in generous servings. We can recommend his favourite pasta with capers, olives, basil and tomatoes. This trendy café is located in an old gas station on Savignyplatz and decorated like a French brasserie, with 1930s imitation leather and lamps, the place is lively, friendly, and informal and has a sprawling terrace, perfect for summer.

In its gray-white-gold setting-designed by Tren Mai Huy Thong and Thilo Ferdinand Reich-Chi Sing is attracting a fair share of attention with its Huê cuisine (from central Vietnam) for solo diners or multitudes. Michelberger Hotel***
This small hotel boasts imaginitive design and stylish individual rooms, a great café stacked with books, which also often has live music events in the evening, and a restaurant with terrace. The former factory does not hide its industrial past. Untreated concrete, grillwork cages filled with old books, a wood shingle-covered reception desk: the tone is set. From the immense cloche lampshades à la Kapoor, which are in fact made of old book jackets, to the overall graphics, from the black tile bar to the luggage strap towel racks in the bathrooms and the breakdown of the rooms into size categories (Cosy, Loft, Band, Luxus, and Big One), everything is decomposed to reach a spartan but amusing style, where nothing is taken seriously.

Honigmond****
Charming and quiet hotel, in Berlin’s trendy Mitte district, with colorful individually decorated rooms and Mediterranean style garden. The Honig-mond now has a sister establishment, the Garden Hotel. As the name suggests, it has a pretty, leafy garden, bursting with flowers in springtime. Dotted with bee motifs, the decor is a mix of European antiques, Oriental influences, exotic lines, fresh blooms, and German print motifs.

The Berlin Wall Memorial
The memorial contains the last piece of Berlin Wall with the preserved grounds behind it and is thus able to convey an impression of how the border fortifications developed until the end of the 1980s. The city was divided in 1961: East Berliners jumped from apartment windows, vaulted over barbed wire, tunnelled beneath the streets in an attempt to reach freedom. The Berlin Wall Memorial – which includes the city’s only unadorned stretch of border fortifications and a superb museum – marks the iniquity, compliance and heroism of East and West Berliners during those tragic years.
