Guía Peñín 2019: Lasendal 2016: 90P. “5 stars! Very good quality price relation”
International Wine Challenge 2020 Lasendal 2018: GOLD
James Suckling: Lasendal 2019: 90pts. “Plums, cherries, wild raspberries, olives and grilled herbs on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Peppery, smoky character. Flavorful finish. Garnacha tinta and syrah. Vegan.”
Intense cherry color with violet reflections.
Complex aromas of red fruits, well integrated soft roasted aromas from the barrel and some pepperiness.
Lots of Garnacha with ripe smooth cherries, raspberries and some leafiness too. On the finish it shows a beautiful integration of the oak with toasted notes and spices from the Syrah. Tannins are ripe and mild.
DISHES THAT GO WELL WITH THIS WINE
Lamb, fried chicken, pasta and roasted vegetables are good companions for Lasendal. Although, given its nature, it suits red meat and strong cheeses as well.
Serve at around 17°C.
Montsant is a Spanish Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP) (Denominació d’Origen Protegida in Catalan) for wine located in the province of Tarragona, Catalonia. It covers 12 municipalities and takes its name from the Montsant Mountains in the area. The vineyards stretch along the mountain sides among olive groves, forests and rocky outcrops. DOP Montsant has the distinction of being the only region in Catalonia (and one of only a handful) in Spain where kosher wine is produced.
